I just discovered this radio aircheck gem. It is a War of the Worlds-style Halloween drama produced on an easy listening radio station in Peoria, Illinois in 1972. It revolves around a plague that is turning people into flesh-eating ghouls, like in Night of the Living Dead. It uses the actually news staff as in roles. I can't find any online articles about the reaction in Peoria to this. It is kind of unnerving.
A kinder, gentler version of the old blog. This will take a fun look at pop culture, because nothing upsets Ozarkers more than fun and pop culture. Mwu-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

The Walls Keep Talking (1941) – Vintage Halloween Music
I've been hoping to find this on YouTube. I put The Gene Krupa Orchestra with Anita O'Day's vocal on the final Halloween music podcast from last year. This old movie short, which looks kind of like a music video was my introduction to that song. It is not the original Gene Krupa/Anita O'Day recording. I wish I knew who it was. Also wish I knew who the actors were portraying the young couple. The guy looks familiar.
WARNING: THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED POLITICALLY INCORRECT.

THE MUSIC OF OCTOBER COUNTRY
October Country was a sunshine pop group of the late 60s. I once erroneously said on this blog that the liner notes of the only LP were by Ray Bradbury. I found some copies of the LP on line and Bradbury is nowhere to be found. I'm not sure what I saw, where Bradbury gave an endorsement to a 60s band, named after one of his books. I'll keep digging.
They do have a connection to another sci-fi/horror master. After they recorded their first LP, they scored a short film called Amblin. Ever hear of Amblin Entertainment? That film was written and directed by a young Steven Spielberg. Enjoy two of their most famous songs.

BEST OF DESDINOVA: HALLOWEEN MUSIC PODCAST RECAP
Note: I may do another podcast. I put them on hold for awhile. I'm also think of trying a different format this time. Stay tuned.
COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN 2016
It is time again for the Countdown to Halloween. I enjoy this because I get a great amount of traffic to this blog, but also because I get to write about monster movies and horror related music. Enjoy and leave a comment to let me know you visited.
I found this cool horror movie collage on Tumblr. If I found out whop posted it, I'll give them credit. I'll have to go back and look.
